Urwerk back in time, UR-102 "Reloaded" Quirky watch design house Urwerk has gone back 26 years to revisit one of its classics launched at Baselworld 1997, releasing a new "rebooted" version of its space-age themed UR-102 watch, It breathes new life into its minimalist style. Urwerk has earned a reputation for creating a range of watches that push the boundaries of chronograph aesthetics and the way hours, minutes and seconds are displayed. Many of them are quite complicated, but Urwerk also makes some very elegant watches. In 1997, Urwerk launched the UR-102 watch, whose clean, streamlined design was inspired by the Soviet Union's launch of the first artificial satellite in 1957. Today, the company is revisiting the UR-102 with a “reboot” that tweaks the functionality and introduces titanium to replace the original ceramic-aluminum case, and smoothes the design by moving the crown to blend into the 4 o’clock position. But the UR-102's party piece is still a display based on a clock design dating back to 1656, but rarely seen since then. Called the Wandering Hours complication, only one of the displayed moving parts is visible. The dial consists of a semi-circular arch marked with the minute display. Above this, move a windowed band in which the current time is displayed. As the band moves, the hour window sits above the current minute until it reaches the far end. Then it disappears and is replaced by another window showing the next hour. Replica Urwerk 102 watches, best replica watch site ,replica watches review The new arrangement remains the same, but the font has been improved for better readability, and a trivia about the UR-102 is engraved on the strap, which is made of anodized aluminum to reflect the color scheme of the original. The UR-102 "Reloaded" is larger than its predecessor, with a 41mm shell instead of 38mm. The case is available in satin-brushed titanium and black, both included in a set box. Inside is a 25-jewel self-winding Caliber 2.02 movement beating at 28,800 vph and boasting a 48-hour power reserve. The display is protected by a custom sapphire crystal and the watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet, 3 atmospheres). The entire watch strap features a textured Baltimore quilt patterned rubber strap and a micro-blasted titanium buckle. Introducing the Urwerk UR100V P.02 for Collective 52nd anniversary of Apollo 11's successful moon landing, an incredible feat made possible not just by Buzz, Neil and Michael, but by all the women and men at NASA. This was an era before the space shuttle program, however, in 1968, a year before the penultimate Apollo mission, George Mueller, head of NASA's Human Spaceflight Office, announced the development of a reusable space shuttle The plan to pave the way for a new generation of space travel will begin with OV-101 (aka Enterprise). The US space shuttle Enterprise was never equipped with engines or heat shields, but it will serve as a test bed for many simulation systems that will eventually be used in Columbia and beyond. Oh, and it definitely looks like business thanks to the single tail fin integrated into the rear of the shuttle. Today, much of the Enterprise is on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City, and it served as the inspiration for Urwerk's latest limited-edition collaboration. This is a UR100V P.02 made for Collective and also for the benefit of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The P.02 is based on the Urwerk UR100 "Space Time" watch with some modifications as a nod to the Space Shuttle launch and landing sequence, timing the space phases of each maneuver. The "standard" UR100 Space Time displays the distance traveled on Earth and the distance traveled on Earth in 20-minute increments using tiny apertures along the top of the dial. The P.02 repurposes these apertures to show three launch phases on the left and four landing phases on the right. Each phase has its own color: green for time on Earth; blue for solid booster ignition on the left, final descent on the right; orbital altitude in red on the left, re-entry to the right; and finally black, represents space. See below for a clearer explanation. replica luxury watches ,replica watches for sale ,replica Jacob & Co. Astronomia Casino These colors not only bring a welcome personality to the matte bronze chassis, but tell a hellish story in the process. The bespoke manual that accompanies the watch goes into more detail about the process represented, along with some visual inspiration from the Enterprise's analog cockpit gauges. Oh, and it's also a watch that reads the time via rotating hour satellites that pick up the minute hand on top of the hour. The hours are read from a large block with a minute hand... pointing to the minutes. Once you understand what you're looking at, it's pretty straightforward (time 1:20 in the image below). One of Urwerk's most wearable watches, the UR100 is 41mm wide, 49.7mm long overall, and 14mm thick, made mostly of domed crystal. The automatic movement is regulated by an ingenious planetary turbine system to control the speed of the oscillating weight via the Windfänger propeller. The movement itself is a UR 12.01, which is the basis for the Zenith Elite movement, rebuilt by Urwerk and equipped with their proprietary "wandering hours" display. This watch is for use by The Collective and potential Collective members only. None of this takes away from the cool factor of this watch (which is why we're talking about it), but it's the first of two open membership windows for the Collective this year, the second of which will release a newer model around this fall. Easy to use watch.
